Fine Art Projects

As a fine artist, body painting has become my main medium and I have created engaging work around themes of nature, the body, connection, philosophy and what it is to be human. My most recent projects highlight the beauty of nature as well as serious themes around climate change. I believe that through body painting, we can feel a strong, spiritual connection with nature and use this to heal our minds and bodies.

Nature

The above and below photographs were taken on the breathtakingly beautiful Pacific Coast of Colombia, South America. I explored themes around women and nature, expressing the power of the sea and sky through body paint. Part of the process also involved connecting with the women I met and painted, discussing the ways that relationships with our bodies can become damaged, and how we can connect with nature to heal.

Body Painting is about connection. Wherever I go and whoever I paint, the intention is to connect and create. The 'Nature' project was about women finding this healing connection with their bodies, using paint and feeling the essence of the nature around them.

The final photographs have been exhibited in parts of the UK, at Norwich Shoe Factory, July 2023 and The Mike Rowe Gallery & Exhibition Space, Norwich, October 2023.

Body Painting to highlight themes around climate change

I recognise that we are living amongst systems and structures which prioritse profit over planet earth. My fine art body painting projects intend to draw attention to the beauty and fragility of nature.

With striking colours and patterns, by using the human body as a canvas among nature, these issues are highlighted in an engaging and thought-provoking way.
